Meet Rebecca Belenky

Los Angeles Holistic Doula

Finding the right doula can feel like a big decision.

Birth is one of the most intimate and powerful experiences of your life. I get it— it’s natural to feel nervous about inviting a stranger into that space. You want someone who understands you, who you feel comfortable around, and who will truly honor your wishes.

My role as your doula isn’t to tell you how your birth “should” look or bring an agenda. It’s about listening, respecting your choices, and offering steady encouragement so you feel confident and cared for. With thoughtful support, my goal is for you to feel empowered and fully present in this beautiful process.

The best way to know if I’m the right doula for you is to meet and talk! I invite you to schedule a free interview with me so we can see whether the connection feels right.

My Philosophy of doula support

I hope my clients’ birthing experiences include the confidence to advocate for themselves, to experience their body and baby in an affirming way, and have a meaningful transformation into the role of mother or father, parent, family.

Rebecca Belenky birth doula services NELA

Working with families through pregnancy and postpartum is one of the most gratifying parts of my life.

I came to doula work after having my first child, and it has been deeply rewarding to share the knowledge that supported me on my own mothering journey — and to help my doula clients discover their own unique touchstones.

For eight years, I practiced as a solo doula before co-owning Birth Alchemy Doula Collective, where I collaborated with other Los Angeles doulas to serve families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. After nearly two years with the collective, I returned to my solo practice Los Angeles Birth, continuing the same heart-centered, holistic support that has always guided my work.

Since 2014, I’ve had the privilege of supporting countless families in many different birthplaces and alongside a wide variety of providers in Los Angeles.

What I’ve learned is to hold a deep appreciation for the multiplicity of this profound life experience. There is no one-size-fits-all path to birth or parenting. Each of us brings our own lived experience, family history, and expectations, so of course, every journey will look a little different and be uniquely your own.

Ideas That I ReturnTo

One

I believe that choices in birth are rarely black or white.

Two

Perfection is a myth and the status quo deserves to be challanged.

Three

We need community and supportive people around us.

My passion for birth work sprang from my own childbearing experience.

Being cared for by a midwife opened up a world of possibilities — I was given information, trusted to make choices aligned with my values, and felt truly respected. That thoughtful care was life-changing, helping me embrace parenthood with autonomy and intuition.

With my second child, and even now as both of my kids have moved into elementary school, I continue to learn and grow as a parent — always returning to those early lessons about respect, critical thinking, and trusting myself.
