Birth Doula Support in Pasadena, CA

If you’re preparing for birth in Pasadena, you may be thinking about where to give birth, how to prepare, and what kind of support will help you feel steady and confident through the experience.

Pregnancy can bring a mix of excitement, anticipation, and uncertainty. With so much information coming your way, it can be difficult to stay connected to what matters most to you.

As a birth and postpartum doula serving Pasadena and the surrounding Los Angeles area since 2014, I offer thoughtful preparation, compassionate presence, and calm support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum time.

You don’t have to navigate this transition alone.

“Rebecca understood my anxieties and approached all my wishes and concerns with great empathy and non-judgment. She guided me through the pains of labor with the most amazing calming presence I’ve ever witnessed in a person—it was truly magical how she put me at ease.”

Local Support for Pasadena Families

Hi, I’m Rebecca Belenky, a certified holistic birth and postpartum doula, lactation educator, and childbirth educator since 2014.

I’m based in South Pasadena and support families giving birth at Huntington Hospital, Moxie Birthing Center, and other hospitals and birth settings across Los Angeles.

Each birth environment has its own rhythm and flow. Part of my role is helping you understand what to expect and feel more prepared as you move through your experience, whether that means supporting you at home in early labor, joining you at the hospital, or helping you navigate decisions along the way.

What Birth Doula Support Looks Like

As your doula, I provide steady, non-judgmental support that adapts to your needs and preferences.

This includes:

  • Prenatal meetings to explore your goals, concerns, and preparation for birth

  • Continuous labor support at home, hospital, or birthing center

  • Hands-on comfort support using breath, movement, positioning, and grounding, use of TENS machine

  • Guidance for partners so they feel confident and involved

  • Postpartum support as you recover, process your birth, and adjust to life with your baby

  • Ongoing phone and text support throughout pregnancy and postpartum

My role is not to direct your experience, but to support you in feeling informed, grounded, and cared for as you make decisions that align with your values.

Is This Support Right for You?

Most of the families I work with want their birth to feel connected, supported, and aligned with what matters most to them.

Some are preparing for their first baby and want guidance through the unknown. Others are returning for a second or third birth and hoping for a different experience this time.

Whether you’re planning a hospital birth at Huntington Hospital L&D, considering an epidural, preparing for a VBAC, or simply wanting more support through the process, you deserve care that meets you where you are—emotionally, physically, and practically.

“I deeply valued our postpartum sessions, where Rebecca’s warmth, wisdom, and listening ear helped me feel truly seen as I transitioned into motherhood. She offered not just her own insight but also incredible resources that resonated deeply with me. Her calm presence soothed many of my anxieties and reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this new chapter.”

Birth Doula Support in Pasadena FAQs

When should we hire a doula?

Most families reach out sometime in the second trimester, but it’s never too early to connect. Having support in place earlier in pregnancy can help you feel more prepared and grounded as you move toward birth.

Do you support epidural births?

Yes. Many of my clients plan to use an epidural, keep it as an option, or decide during labor. Doula support can help with positioning, communication, and staying grounded before and after an epidural.
